Dreams: An Original Melancholic Poem & Song by Nia | Daniel Olivero González
Dreaming of someone who isn’t there can lead to confusion—a confusion much like pain when, in the dream, we see the person who might have been the love of our lives but is no longer here.
The poem "Dreams" is the English adaptation of the Spanish piece Sueños. It is accompanied by a haunting song inspired by the text, performed by Nia, marking her brilliant debut in the digital catalog of El Eco de un Recuerdo.
Dreams
[ POEM ]
I imagine I could speak to the page,
whisper lines of love, gentle words,
brimming with meaning,
steeped in passion,
woven with tenderness,
etched with the balm of understanding.
So many words I long to offer,
while holding your gaze,
as if the world faded, leaving only you.
Waiting for the truth in your voice,
for the gift of a smile to erase all my pain...
I stand before the page,
and find myself alone,
walking an autumn path.
Like a lighthouse braving a storm.
The chill in my soul ripples through my skin,
and I realize—I dream once more,
I dream of you once more,
knowing you’re not real.
