Dreams: Original Poem & Song

Dreaming of someone who isn’t there can lead to confusion—a confusion much like pain when, in the dream, we see the person who might have been the love of our lives but is no longer here.

The poem Dreams is the English version of the Spanish poem  Sueños. It is accompanied by a song inspired by the text, performed by Nia, making her debut in the digital catalog of Echo of a Memory. As always, I hope you enjoy it.

DREAMS

I imagine I could speak to the page,
whisper lines of love, gentle words,
brimming with meaning,
steeped in passion,
woven with tenderness,
etched with the balm of understanding.

So many words I long to offer,
while holding your gaze,
as if the world faded, leaving only you.
Waiting for the truth in your voice,
for the gift of a smile to erase all my pain...

But suddenly, I wake!
I stand before the page,
and find myself alone,
walking an autumn path.

Like a lighthouse braving a storm.
The chill in my soul ripples through my skin,
and I realize—I dream once more,
I dream of you once more,
knowing you’re not real.
