Sometimes: A Poem Transmuted into Song | Daniel Olivero González
Sometimes
(Lyrical Adaptation)
A poem transmuted into song. The inherent musicality of meter comes into existence through chords and melody. These are miracles of technology that allow modest dreams to flourish, acquiring grandiose edges in the resonance of the heart.
The song I share today is based on a poem from my first book, 'Lost in Your Eyes'.
Sometimes I remember you at dawn,
and despite my will, a smile appears.
Sometimes I dream of you like a fairy tale,
sharing my delusions, no mere whimsy.
When the rain wets my lips,
I feel the warmth of your forbidden kisses.
Sometimes I write to you in weathered verses,
where love lay hidden between the lines.
In spite of myself, this love remains.
Like a shadow, your reflection lingers.
It is a fire that never turns to ash;
even if I deny it, I am bound to your mirror.
In every corner, I find you again,
even as I pretend you no longer matter.
Those memories ignite their ancient flame,
as if they were concubines haunting my soul.
I try to lose you on every breaking wave,
but the sea never erases your footprints.
Our story is a ghost no one controls,
even if reason tries to devour it in my mind.
